Viziovirtù is located in San Tomà in Calle del Campaniel, also known as Givran or Grimani, situated in the center of Venice and just ten minutes walk from Piazzale Roma (the car terminal) and the railway station and 15 minutes from St. Mark's Square. VizioVirtù chocolate shop is opened everyday from 10 am to 7.30 pm. On your way to see us, take advantage of the walk among the alleys and small squares to discover the area around the chocolate shop, which is rich in culture and art and with each corner decorated in typical Venetian style, many of which have inspired our creations. At the beginning of Campo San Tomà , the Scuola dei Calegheri celebrates shoe repair craftsmen. This ancient building is the association headquarters (the main door of the facade features a crescent shape window above it and you can still see the image of St. Mark curing Aniano the shoemaker). Continue onwards to the Scuola Grande di San Rocco, the ancient location of the Mutual Aid Brotherhood of the same name, which hosts Tintoretto's most important series of paintings. Tintoretto was the greatest Venetian artist from the second half of the sixteenth-century. Then walk to the Basilica dei Frari, named Santa Maria Assunta, a huge Franciscan church containing works of priceless art, including the famous Pala Pesaro (1526) and the alter piece representing the Assumption of the Virgin Mary (1488), both by Titian, and the beautiful Madonna with Saints (1488), Giovanni Bellini's masterpiece and wooden statue of John the Baptist by Donatello, the only Venetian opera by the Florentine master. The high alter features the splendid alter piece representing the Assumption of the Virgin Mary (1518) by Titian. Viziovirtù is a stroll from the birthplace of one of the greatest chocolate enthusiasts of all time, Carlo Goldoni (1707 – 1793), who defined it in one of his plays as a "great drink, sweet liquor...â€. Today, the building hosts a museum dedicated to the life and works of this great playwright and to the history of theater. The Theatrical Studies Library is also located here and hosts over 30,000 works including texts, theater studies and original manuscripts.
